Data Centres proving a key market for Electrastar

Electrastar has seen a substantial rise in Data Centre projects in 2007. The rise is around 150 % on 2006 figures.

In simple terms, a data centre is a facility, room or building used to house computer systems and their associated equipment. They incorporate telecommunications, backup power supplies, data storage systems, data communications connections, air conditioning and fire suppression.

Managing Director, Rob Dixon says “The increased activity within the Data Centre sector is good for both Electrastar and its clients. We have the resources and structure to tackle large volume termination projects and in 2007 alone, we have carried out somewhere in the region of 70,000 fibre optic terminations within Data Centres”.

Electrastar specialise in Fibre Optic termination and testing are able to provide these services to clients with high volume termination requirements.
